Race Director Sal Collura will lead us out for this moderately-paced spin.

Saturday 9:30 AM, First baptist Church of Eugene, 3550 Fox Meadow Rd, Eugene, Oregon 97408.
- Mandatory Pre-Pace Meeting with chief offical Lynn Goss

Lynn will go over safety concerns and race regulations. She'll also answer your questions about the race or OBRA rules. Lynn has always made racer safety her priority, and we love her for that.

Stage 1: Saturday AM - Coburg Road Race.

B's, 10:15
C's, 10:20
From the Eugene Baptist Chruch Parking lot, racers will follow an escorted neutral lead car through the beautiful town of Coburg, the your official will indicate that racing is underway. You will work your way up the valley a piece, then wend eastward into the Coburg hills, including a decisive climb, where there's a feed zone at the 40-mile point, where you may have a friend hand you a bottle if you'd like. The course loops its way back toward Coburg through some nice rollers along legendary McKenzie View Drive for the finish at 60 miles.

The C racers will start at the same venue following a lead car for a neutral start, then head right and begin racing on the local favorite, McKenzie View Drive, for a total of 20 miles.

Stage 2: Sunday 9 AM - Coburg Opening Time Trial.
Coburg Elementary School 91274 North Coburg Road, Eugene, OR 97408.

This 15-mile loop TT is flat and promises to be be fast and smooth, so discs and light wheels will be AOK. C's will do a shortened 10-mile loop along the same route.

We will assign Time Trial start times in reverse order of General Classification, established by Saturday's results. Categories will be separated with the A's starting first at 9AM. You can check for your TT start time after results ar ein on Saturday, or at the staging area at the church parking lot on Sunday morning.

Stage 3: Sunday 1 PM Co-Motion Criterium
Greenhill Technology Park, Eugene

Exit 195B off I-5.

Second light is Terry. Go right.
Course is one block on the left.

B's, 1:00 PM
A's, 1:45APM
C's do not race in the criterium. Watch and root for your favorites!
This 1K wide open safe course at Greenhill Technology Park is a great venue for tandem racing, and after the tandems are done, it will play host to single races as well.

Awards and results will be announced as soon as our officials have a chance to compile them after the tandem criterium. We'll share a few laughs and wish all our friends well for another year!

Co-Motion Cycles invites the return of all past Co-Motion Classic competitors, as well as competitive tandem cyclists from seasoned racers to novices. We're also excited to be able to include any tandem rider who'd like to join the fun in the C event, whether you want to dip your toe into some competition,or just enjoy the ride!

The fields: A, B and C level categories, limited to 50 tandems in each field. Mixed and matched-gender teams welcome in the A and B fields. The C category is intended primarily for adult/child pairs, where one member of the team is under age 14. If your child is aged 10 or younger, Oregon Bicycle Racing Association rules stipulate that you can NOT race in any other category. Awards for C's will be limited to Adult/child teams, for which every child will be awarded.

More about category C: The C category is not ofically timed or judged by Oregon Bicycle Racing Association officials. OBRA will not apply any Orgeon BAR points, nor will they view your C category experience to leverage an upgrade to a higher OBRA category. Please register for the A or B category if you're seeking points or official timing. We will time and place the C category for CCTR purposes, just be aware that it is not officially sanctioned as an OBRA race.

We welcome you to participate in the C category if you'd like to get your first taste of a tandem competition. You can even participate if your "tandem" consists of a bicycle with a child's "tag-along" or "trailercycle". Because the C category is not officially a race,it's a great opportunity to learn about racing, have some fun with the kids and enjoy the thrill of being in a fast-paced tandem peloton.

Please Register early!

CCTR's race director since the beginning has been Sal Collura. Sal knows this race better than anyone, and he thinks that you want hear what he has to say. We'll let you be the judge. We'll post his comments and subtle smack-downs here. You can write back and say anything that's appropriate and we'll post your comments and photos too. This blog won't be a free-for-all, let's keep it clean and on the topic of tandem racing- specifically the Co-Motion Classic Tandem Race.
