Co-Motion Classic Tandem Race

Today (February 9th) we’re announcing that the race will not be held in 2011. While we’re saddened that we did not succeed in bringing more tandem racers to Eugene to participate, we’re proud of the quality of the races we put together here. Those who did participate have been known to gush that the level of competition was outstanding, and the camaraderie among the athletes was superb. To our sponsors, our volunteers and race staff as well as all who came to test their mettle, thank you so much. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you all, and always looked forward to seeing you each year.

Do not despair, we’re working on a brand new event!

That’s right! Although an annual tandem race did not prove to be the kind of event we had envisioned, we hope to bring all of our tandem racing friends and more cyclists of all kinds to Eugene for another kind of event. For 2011, we’re sponsoring a series of tandem races around Oregon. In 2012, we hope to put together something special here in Eugene. We’ll keep an eye on the race series and quietly plot our plans in the background. Stay tuned.

Dear people at Co-Motion, it is sad that the outstanding race didn’t happen this year but we are looking forward to getting racing fit again for 2012 and be part of whatever you’ll be putting up. It is a lot of work to prepare any kind of event that envolves people being on roads and we had such a great time riding the race in 2006 and 2007.
