How to quiet a squeaky Softride beam.

After you’ve owned your Softride beam-equipped Cappuccino, AL Capp or SkyCapp for a while, the beam will require some minor maintenance. Especially if you live in a hot & dusty or very wet environment, the lubrication points on your beam’s hardware will begin to need some attention.

Usually any creaking from the beam can be eliminated by removing all of the height-adjusting hardware and lubricating. Grease the bolt, both on the threading and on the underside of the bolt head. Also grease the T-nut similarly. The serrated washers should have a thin coating of grease where the bolt presses against them, too. Also, the aluminum caps that come out of the frame should have a coating of grease where they make contact. Be sure when you reassemble to put everything in the correct position, and don’t over tighten the bolt. The bracket is tapered to prevent the beam from slipping down.
