My wife and I bought our new Speedster in 2010, and have had it nearly a year now. We love the bike! I’m continually amazed at how supple it feels, but without being flexy. The steel frame really soaks up the bumps, and is so quiet that we call our Silver/Titanium/Black bike “the silver ghost”.
We searched for about six months, looking for a used tandem that would fit us, and also considered something cheaper. In the end, the Speedster was the only bike that made sense to us with its reasonable pricepoint but high-quality components. We’re glad we bought it.

I’ve had my Speedster since 2000. It has been a solid and fun bike. Everywhere it has been ridden, we have had nothing but positive comments about the looks of the bike. The whole family has ridden it. I have ridden as both captain and stoker. I’m comfortable in either position and love the ride. There is a Moxy suspension post fot the stoker, but even with out it, the ride for the stoker is as smooth as that of the captain. I’m looking forward to many more years of riding it.

We purchased our ‘04 Speedster in May of that year and have logged around 7,000 miles on her. While not the lightest machine in the marketplace, I think that it’s probably the best all-around & bang-for-the-buck tandem out there. The bike is solid and is very agile for a tandem (& pretty decent in comparison to a “single” road bike). It’s been exceedingly reliable, needing only the annual tune-up on the chains & cable. Ours Prowler Yellow tips the scale at 50 lbs in normal riding trim. (We don’t tour, just tandem rallyes, club- and charity rides). Factory support has been great, answering all of our upgrade questions, as well as selling us that wonderful Wound-Up fork.
