    nor'wester overview

Imagine yourself participating in Ride the Rockies, RAGBRAI, Seattle to Portland, Great Western Bike Rally, Ride for the Roses, Cycle Oregon – you know just hearing the names of these rides invokes a sense of anticipation that can inspire a season of training and commitment. Mass-celebrations of cycling, they attract growing number of riders as more people discover the befefits of making these unique events part of their lifestyle .

On a Nor’Wester taking on new challenges will be more comfortable, more efficient, and more enjoyable. This bike is truly designed for the kind of riding you do-organized tours, centuries, adventurers abroad, even commuting. You won’t outgrow the Nor’Wester, instead it will become a trusted companion that will help you to achieve your goals.

As a builder of premium handcrafted bicycles here in the Northwest, we get many requests for a bike that strikes a perfect balance between a racer and dedicated tourers like our Americano. The Nor’Wester is spot-on with outstanding versatility, precise handling, and all-day comfort. With all its capabilities, the Nor’Wester still climbs and accelerates like an ultra-light racer. Designed to handle light touring, and the fatter tires and fenders you can’t get on your skinny bike; the Nor’Wester is truly a bike you can live on.

The new Nor’Wester has been redesigned with a fresh new carbon fork made just for its unique geometry by Alpha Q. Not you average racer-kid’s fork, it is designed for long-reach caliper brakes, with the Nor’Wester’s requisite room for fenders ands dropout eyelets. It’s the fork we’ve always wanted, to make the Nor’Wester better than ever.

We build the Nor’Wester with the magic carpet ride quality that only a hand built cro-moly steel frame can offer. You’ll appreciate the lively, ride and the rock solid stability you need to carry your panniers or maybe just your credit card. Details like meticulously brazed fittings, and hand-sculpted dropouts exemplify that the craft of frame building is alive and well here at Co-Motion Cycles. Whether you cycle the South, the North or the Great Northwest, we know you're going to love this bike.
