Bike tour all over the World
This is way better than a video game!

Does your route include dirt roads, forest fires, bears, glaciers, jungles and very few bike shops? Better ride a Co-Motion.

Those are just a few of the adventures faced by Brooks Allen and Gregg Bleakney as they pedal 20,000 miles from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Tierra del Fuego at the southern most tip of South America.

Their Ribbon of Road Tour has so far raised $20,000 for the American Diabetes Association, toward their goal of $50,000.

The Co-Motion Cycles world headquarters happens to be right on their route south, so when Gregg and Brooks stopped by here in September we had a chance to give their Americanos a close inspection in addition to giving them (their bikes) some well earned maintenance. We also had a chance to put their fully loaded Americanos on a scale. Wow, these bikes EACH weigh in at around 125 pounds without water and food. Brooks! Gregg! Do you really need that much stuff? Come on, leave the complete set of Fine Homebuilding mags at home next time. Luckily, the Americano incorporates a lot of Co-Motion's tandem technology which makes it one tough world touring bike.

Go to the Ribbon of Road website and check in with Gregg and Brooks from time to time. You can view lots of photos from the tour and you can also help them reach their goal by donating to the American Diabetes Association. How cool are these guys?
